Teacher Appreciation Week

In a year when teachers have had to relearn their profession, train themselves, and try new methods (many of which included technology), all while maintaining their own health and safety as well as that of their families… we want to extend our sincerest gratitude.

Teachers are a critical part of a child’s life; creating memories they will hold onto forever; influencers who will help shape their future choices and career paths.

It takes a special person to be a teacher and they deserve to be appreciated every day.

After the stress from this past year, we could ALL use some fun.

What better way than with games, comics, and videos of beloved characters!?

Whether you already use Teachley or not, we want to thank you!

Although we no longer teach in the classroom, we are fortunate to remain connected through our families and work at Teachley. Here are some favorite memories of our children’s teachers this past year.

Rachael: Quickly after remote learning began, my daughter’s PreK teachers worked tirelessly to create a virtual classroom as similar to their physical one as possible. It was incredible to see the many hours of effort, creativity, love, and care her teachers took to continue providing a strong social-emotional and educational experience, despite all the unknowns we were faced with. There was no slowing down as she began Kindergarten part remote, part socially distanced. The best part of those in-person days was when she joked at pick-up (pretend sad face turned biggest smile ever), “Mom, it wasn’t a good day. IT WAS A GREAT DAY!!!”

Kara:  One of my child’s teachers found that creating inside jokes has really helped the students connect with each other virtually. Each time they have trouble with the Internet or Zoom, the teacher tells the students that polar bears have taken over the school and are messing with the Internet. The kids go wild trying to tell him that there aren’t any polar bears, turning what could be a frustrating situation into one that’s fun.

Dana: My favorite part of virtual school was catching my kids’ teachers doing a funny dance, saying something quirky, or singing something silly through the small Zoom box when they didn’t know parents were watching… it’s amazing to see how the heart shines through even when teaching through a computer screen all day long.

To our children’s teachers and those of kids everywhere, we are so grateful for you!
